ATC Training Aquathon #3

Our August Aquathlon Series has come to an end ….. and what a finale it was! 🤩 The past 3 weeks have seen our club members take on a quick and tough little course at Coosan Point, designed to sharpen their skills, and provide the opportunity to race their hearts out and leave nothing behind! 💪🏻 The most poignant aspect of these training evenings has been watching juniors, complete beginners, novices, advanced and even elite club members lining out together to race alongside each other, inspire each other, learn from each other and light that competitive spark and desire to push through to that finish line. A real showing of mutual support and club spirit 🖤💛 A special mention to our Junior club members for their incredible performances over the 3 events and for teaching us all some valuable lessons about true sporting determination and that “can do” attitude!! The future is shining bright with these young athletes and we are excited to see it play out 😎 Plans are in place and exci

ATC Training Aquathon #2

It was a dull and dreary evening and the rain poured down for the second event in our Junior Splash and Dash and Senior Aquathon Series last weekend; but the weather didn’t dampen the club members spirits and determination to leave nothing behind as they lined out to race their hearts out! 💪🏻 As always, plenty of laughs and banter, friendly competition, mutual support from clubmates and volunteers and some pretty fierce racing on a quick but testy little course! ☺️ In the words of Coach Mick, “it’s easy when it’s easy; but it’s definitely better craic when it’s as tough as it was tonight” We’re excited for the finale this Friday!! 🖤💛 #athlonetriathlonclub #athlonetriclub #ATCMovingForMentalHealth #TrainingTogetherWhileStayingApart #AthloneTriJuniorClub #iTrainWithAthloneTriClub

ATC Training Aquathon #1

The sun was shining on our athletes yesterday as they raced their hearts out in  the first event in our August series of Training Aquathons in our native Coosan Point!  First off the mark, our Junior Superstars took on their “Splash and Dash” event, supported and cheered on by novices, elites and coaches, and showing each and everyone a thing or two about steely determination and chasing that finish line 💪🏻☺️  Hot on their heels, our Senior Club Members toed the line and gave their all on a testing race route. Beginners right through to more seasoned athletes raced side by side and not only supported one another but allowed that friendly competitiveness to challenge each other to push the limits. 🏊🏻‍♂️ 🏃🏻‍♂️ Some amazing racing and plenty of that ATC club camaraderie!  We already can’t wait to see what unfolds in part 2! 🤩  #athlonetriathlonclub #athlonetriclub #ATCMovingForMentalHealth #TrainingTogetherWhileStayingApart #AthloneTriJuniorClub #iTrainWithAthloneTriClub

Loughrea Triathlon Festival

Yesterday was a big day out for ATC with a great crew heading to Loughrea for a National Series Sprint, Junior National Series festival and a Try-a-Tri for those wishing to venture into the world of racing.  First off were the juniors, with incredibly competitive fields and some of the best up and coming athletes in the county taking part. Our first athlete off, Senan Mc Donnell finished in third place overall in the 14/15 age group, with the third fastest swim and run splits. He was followed by big brother William in the 16/17 age group, who took another brilliant third place overall. What an exciting future lies ahead for these talented lads. Next up was our own Declan Kelly, taking part in his very first open event in the Try-a-Tri over a 300m swim, 11km cycle and 3km run. Overcoming the nerves, Declan got stuck in, coming out of the water in 7th place. A blistering performance on the bike and run saw him taking 2nd place overall, an amazing achievement, especially considering he co
